What is Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is the scientific use of movement techniques based on physiological principles, supplemented when necessary by: massage, manipulation, electrotherapy other physical & supportive means.

It includes giving advice to, and education of, the patient, for the prevention and treatment of injury, disease and disorders, and the facilitation of normal physiological processes and functional activities.

These are used to assist rehabilitation and restoration of function, including the achievement of personal independence.

What is Pilates
Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920's that strengthens and stretches the whole body while calming and quieting the mind.

Regularly practicing Pilates will improve your posture and core stability, increase your flexibility, promote body-awareness, develop long lean muscles and even improve your sleep.

At Adelphi Physio, we use traditional Pilates mat work and other exercise equipment to restore musculoskeletal balance and improve core muscle strength.?

All exercises are developed with modifications that can make a workout safe and challenging for a person at any level. Pilates is also ideal for specific rehabilitation of injuries and for preventing and overcoming back pain.
